Metal parts found: Bergader recalls pepper cheese

Bergader calls Biarom Green Pepper Sliced Cheese back for metal splinters
The Bergader cheese dairy has launched a recall campaign for “Biarom Green Pepper Mountain Cheese”. Metal fragments were found in a pack. Consumption is strongly discouraged. Customers can return affected products for a refund of the purchase price.

Metal splinters found in cheese
After finding metal fragments in cheese, the Bavarian private dairy Bergader has launched a recall campaign for "Biarom Green Pepper Sliced Cheese" (45 percent fat). As the company announced in Waging am See, metal fragments were found in a single pack. Only articles with the veterinary control numbers "DE-BB 72027 EG" and "DE TH-632 EG" are affected. Among other things, the cheese was packaged for the cheese marketer "Sales & Service Aktuell GmbH", which delivers to North Rhine-Westphalia, Bavaria, Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate. According to the information, Edeka Minden-Hannover, REWE Dortmund and REWE Cologne are other customers.

Customers can return purchased goods
The company specifically warned consumers against consuming the product. Foreign objects in food can cause cuts or stab wounds and can be dangerous if swallowed. Buyers can return the affected goods in the respective market for a refund of the purchase price. The cheese dairy, which expressly regrets the incident, reacted immediately and already had the inventory of the batch concerned taken out of sale in the respective markets.

Huge recall campaign in 55 countries
Due to errors in the manufacturing processes, contamination or foreign bodies in food products can occur again and again. As the Consumer Advice Center North Rhine-Westphalia announced in the past, foreign bodies cannot be ruled out 100 percent even if the surveillance should always be complete. A much larger recall is currently underway because of plastic particles in Mars candy bars. The confectionery manufacturer recently announced that it will recall millions of chocolate products in 55 countries. In addition to foreign bodies, contamination with health-threatening germs is a common reason for food recalls. (ad)
